This is a list of cars that can go from 0-60 in the fastest time possible, so you won't necessarily find a list of the cars' top speeds here. All the cars included reach 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

The list below is continuously updated as newer production cars are released and have been proven to beat the 0-60 times required to make the list.

1. Ferrari SF90 Stradale (Asseto Fiorano) 2.0 seconds

2. Tesla Model S Plaid 2.1 seconds

The latest 2022 Model S Plaid from Tesla is still 100-kilowatt battery powered but it has triple motors power versus dual motors from previous generation. The 2.2 seconds acceleration is way faster than the 2.6 seconds claimed by Porsche, and it is also notable for its use of innovative technologies. Like the 911 Turbo, the Turbo S has a new twin-turbocharged 3.7L engine making 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). Porsche 911 is the second longest name plate on this list that has been produced since 1964.

3. Porsche 918 Spyder (tie)2.2 seconds

The 2015 918 Spyder is the fastest, reaching 60 mph in 2.2 seconds, which is actually faster than the 2.5 second claim made by the manufacturer. The 918 by the way, refers to the number that Porsche produced for this model. This limited edition supercar is also very fast, with a recorded top speed of 210 mph (that's over 340 km/h). The Spyder carried a starting price tag of $814,000, but by September 2014 had already sold out.Total power is rated at 887 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque.

4. Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous+2.28 seconds

The popular Model S sedan, the Tesla Model S P100D with Ludicrous+ upgrade has been shown by MotorTrend to be able to sprint to 60 mph in only 2.28 seconds and a quarter mile at 10.5 seconds while reaching 125 mph with is 776 hp and and 791 lb-ft of torque. Runner up is the Ariel Atom V8 with a top 0-60 mph speed of 2.3 seconds. Manufactured in 2010, less than 25 were initially produced for this model. Based on the looks alone, it's obvious that the Atom was built to be a high performance legal race car. Only about 100 per year are manufactured, and its most conspicuous feature is the visible chassis and lack of windows or roof, underscoring its purpose.

Lamborghini has always been known for producing outrageously fast cars, and the Huracan is no exception. Power comes from 5.2-liter naturally aspired V10 that produce 630 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Rounding out the top seven tie place is Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, which reaches 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. It's one of the most expensive ($2.7 million) and one of the rarest because to date, only 46 Super Sport models will be manufactured globally and only 6 units are sold in U.S. It is slightly more powered version of Veyron with 1184 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque. As far as top speed is concerned, the Super Sport top speed is 268 mph, which makes it one of the fastest road cars in the world today. In the latest test from Motor Trend, they were able to achieve a spectacular 0-60 time of only 2.6 seconds and 1/4 mile time of just 10.6 seconds at 130.3 mph. The Audi R8 is finally beginning to show its teeth to its competition and they should be quite worried.

8. Porsche 911 GT2 RS Weissach Edition (tie)2.6 seconds

It is one of the most pure 911 that is track oriented and most expensive 911 even the Turbo S. They are produced in limited numbers. 9. BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition (tie)2.7 seconds

M8 comes in 3 types form as coupe, convertible and gran coupe. Gran Coupe is the longest of three because it has extra 2 set of doors which makes it sedan. Even though it sedan coupe alike it doesn't offer hatchback style trunk as some of its competition. BMW claims 0-60 is 3 seconds flat but that is conservative because C&D was able to reach in only 2.7 seconds and top speed is 156 mph / 251 km/h unless limiter is removed then is 190 mph / 306 km/h. M8 is replacement for previous BMW M6 generation.

9. Ferrari 488 Pista (tie)2.7 seconds

488 Pista meaning track in Italian was unveiled in 2018 even though 488 was produced between 2015-2020 models. The Pista offered many modifications from mechanical to exterior to make it even more lighter in this case 198-pounds (90kg) and agile than 488 GTB. Power increased to 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque with claimed top speed of 211 mph / 340 km/h. Ferrari 488 was replaced by F8 model.
